The Balmer Lawn Hotel Brockenhurst

The Balmer Lawn Hotel in the New Forest just outside Brockenhurst.

The Balmer Lawn Hotel, just on the outskirts of Brockenhurst should make your stay in the beautiful New Forest a truly memorable one.

Here are a few reasons why I would recommend the Balmer Lawn Hotel, after my visit today. This New Forest hotel room gives you a stunning view over the New Forest

  • 4 Star status following recent refurbishment
  • Stunning views across the New Forest from some of the rooms - as you can see
  • Perfect wedding venue
  • Warm, friendly, welcoming staff
  • Great for families and couples, child friendly rooms to suit all requirements
  • Beautiful bedrooms some with 4 poster beds
  • Clean, sparkling new bathrooms - some of which are stunning!
  • Beautiful design, combining modern and traditional style perfectly
  • Beresfords Restaurant, for award winning food in a contemporary setting
  • Great leisure facilities - inside and outdoor pools and a well equiped gym
  • Lovely Al fresco areas
  • Dog friendly and especially Guide Dog needs met - just contact one of the Sales Team

When I visited I was taken to see many of the rooms by Ben, who is a member of the Balmer Lawn Sales Team. He was really helpful and knowledgeable about the hotel and obviously loved working here.A disabled friendly bathroom at the Balmer Lawn Hotel

I had a asked to see rooms which were suitable for a disabled visitor.

As all floors can be served by lift, access wasn't going to be a problem here.

Also, like many hotels of this age - it dates from around the mid 1800's in many parts- the central staircase, apart from being beautiful, has very shallow steps to negotiate.

The first couple of rooms Ben showed me were disabled - friendly.

The bathroom had been adapted and an emergency response line had been fitted.

Ben also told me that the indoor pool was easily accessed and would be perfect for the needs of my visitors.

This New Forest hotel has been very cleverly and professionally designed with old and new features throughout - stunning We next went along to a room which had the WoW factor.

The views from the picture window went uninterrupted to the horizon, right across the New Forest. Ponies were grazing as we looked out over the trees to the far distance.

The bed was huge and really comfortable. Again the design was totally modern with contemporary colours and lovely stylish touches.

The bathroom was gleaming white with fresh, fluffy towels. A realy welcoming, relaxing room - you would definitely enjoy your New Forest stay here.

Ben showed me lovely family rooms with interconnecting doors and flexible rooms to accommodate all needs.

Throughout there were modern and traditional decorating touches, often which made you stop and smile or just feel "at home".

We visited "The Suite" next. The decoration was beautiful and very modern and sophisticated. All the furnishings were very contemporary and the bathroom was stunning with a massive stand alone bath taking centre stage. You could sit at the double apsect table enjoying a long drink before dinner, looking out at uninterrupted views right across the New Forest from this suite.

The Balmer Lawn Hotel is a great wedding venue.

Your guests could enjoy the beautiful, relaxing reception areas and then when it is time for the wedding ceremony a beautifully light and airy room opens directly onto a nice garden area for the memorable photos to be taken.

Or you could use the outdoor pool area or the front of the Balmer Lawn Hotel to make a lovely setting. If you book your wedding here there is also a 4 poster bedroom with a really stunning bathroom and again those wonderful New Forest views out to the ponies.

New Forest wedding night in this lovely bed would be a perfect memory - forever!

This is the en suite bathroom for the 4 poster bedroom - it's beautiful

Balmer Lawn Hotel New Forest - indoor pool complex

The leisure facilities here are very good.

The indoor pool is a bright and airy room with a good size pool and jacuzzi and sauna.

Outside, ofcourse weather permitting, there is a large pool.

There is a lovely area, overlooking the tennis courts with lots of sun worshipping space..... and you can also order food and drinks out here too.

At the front of the Balmer Lawn Hotel is a large Al Fresco dining area which I really liked.

A fountain provides gentle background sound as you sit under the shades sipping a cool glass of wine and eating lunch from the Beresfords Restaurant or a bar snack from the bar.

The view from the front of the hotel is across "The Balmer Lawn" and is beautiful.

New Forest ponies will wander across the lawn, grazing contentedly or if you're lucky there may be a cricket match going on - all very English and a cool glass of Pimms is a must!

I'd been asked to provide a specific itinary for a disabled person who wishes to have a horse ride whilst staying at the Balmer Lawn Hotel.

Ben and the rest of the Sales Team have been really helpful and set up a couple of New Forest Riding Stables for me - it seems that nothing is too much trouble in this privately owned New Forest hotel.

Apparently the Balmer Lawn Hotel even has a resident ghost whom some guests have reported seeing - I hope he enjoys the beautiful setting and stunning decor and also the warmth of the Balmer Lawn Hotel as much as I did when I visited.
