School House memories.

by Raymond Pidgley
(Spilsby, Lincs.)

We visited Ibsley Aerodrome with my sister Pat's daughter, Karen, from America, a lovely woman, and we went round to the old control tower, or at least what was left of it.

Their father was Corporal Leroy Charles Miller who was stationed at 'Ibsley' during the war, and married my sister 'Pat' who now lives in Cincinatti, Ohio.

At that time during the war, we were living at 'Godshill' in the School house, next to the school.

We were surrounded by memories of the war.

Later on, when I was seventeen, I will never forget arriving at Commando School, which in those days was at Bickleigh, which meant a 'two day' march from 'Lympstone',Exmouth, and being joined by Roy Horsburgh, whom I attended school with at Godshill, who was posted to 40 Commando,in Egypt with me on completion of training.
