If you've read my New Forest foal Blog you'll know that my New Forest pony has recently got over a terribly vicious and deathly illness called Strangles.
Now he's poked his eye, probably on gorse and has punctured his eyeball!
Poor little lad. He looks in a very sorry state, and despite New Forest ponies having a high pain threshold was obviously in lots of pain and discomfort.
It's too early to say whether our 4 x daily medication will save his eye but I'll let you know!

I thought I'd share this (not very good but quite unusual) photo I took of a pair of curious New Forest ponies who encountered this sleeping cat.
Everyone was very relaxed and the New Forest ponies were very gentle. They sniffed and gazed at the little sleeping cat until it decided to move on
Even a friendly New Forest pony hoof is very heavy if you're a snoozing cat!
As you can see it managed a nice long stretch before deciding to sleep somewhere with a bit less hoof traffic!
