Went to the Canadian Cross in the New Forest to pay respect to the bravey of my fathers cousin who was stationed in the New Forest prior to the D day invasion. Sadly he did not make it back to Canada. Also, to think about the men and women who are risking their lives as I type this.
The day was over cast, the leaves were golden. Around 20 people stood in silence to reflect . I left with a sense of sadness but also of peace and greatfulness.
Thank you Helen. A very poignant and moving experience which you have shared with us. A time to reflect.
